Atlanta Trip: Georgia Aquarium | Travel Photography
Gabe and I both love aquariums, so we knew the next stop on our Atlanta trip was the Georgia Aquarium, and boy was this place a pleasant surprise. The main reason we wanted to go here was because they have the one largest single tanks in the world! It's filled with Manta Rays, Whale Sharks and tons of other fish! We did not allot enough time for this place at all, because the whole aquarium was huge and amazing! They had a lot of great interactive exhibits too, like this penguin exhibit that had tunnels you could crawl through and little viewing domes, where you could stick your head out right next to the penguins!
Gabe seriously nerding out for a minute, and having a little kid moment. I love this picture so damn much! <3
This was the ginormous viewing area! I could have seriously sat here for hours! It was amazing.
Get ready...There's about to be a ton of jellyfish photos! Being a kid growing up swimming in the Atlantic Ocean, I thought that jellyfish were gross, painful and freaked me out. It wasn't till a few years ago while swimming the Ocean right before sunrise (don't do that at home, kids) that I really fell in love with them. It must have been a certain time of the year when they were all babies or migrating, but there were tons of them in the Ocean. They didn't sting though. What they did do was magical. They it up! It was like the water was filled with tons of tiny little lights. Whenever I moved it activated their bioluminescence. It was like the ocean was alive and glowing. I can barely explain it, but it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Ever since that day I have been in love with the little guys. Of course they are also incredibly beautiful in the aquarium, and make for some beautiful pictures. So, sorry for the amount of jellyfish photos to follow...
